the root cause of this dreadful feeling of mine became clearer after I spend one full-night

I already have tools that can solve most of my problems

I realized most of my life’s current preferences, and I don’t need much.
I don’t care much about expensive things; fashion, clothes, cars, anime figures. Aside from delicious food, safety, and basic needs, I want tools to help me understand this world + time to explore this world

But I know from the bottom of my heart that “just pen, papers, some books, computer and internet” can solved 90% of my life problems.

I do need delicious food, nice place to sleep, meaningful time with my friends, and I believe all of this don’t require a lot of money nor I have to be a millionaire.

also, I lived with the kind of mindset that I can use my mind and hands to build tools I want that are personalized for me.

I may need to build things that are either

fun - I feel amused during building or solving the problem like playing game or solving some puzzle
some real world problems that I genuinely care
meaningful - there exist some problems that might not fun(for me in this moment) nor I care about but they are tied to survivability of this planet or our civilization
- quantum computing
- grow things on space ?
- pollution ?

for someone, they might get lucky to find “what to build that can get them both money and solving their life problems in the process”

e.g. someone who lost their limbs trying to turn their body into cyborg, someone who searching for their meaning of life and became book writers.

off-topics: why some peak Math/CS bros do quant? I guess they pick this field because it give them both

fun ( like doing puzzles and games +place to utilize their abilities + continuous improvement)

similar to game developer; building games let them utilize their abilities and gave them money.
